Music generally refers to pleasing sound perceived by humans. The same sound can be annoying to another individual, he will call it bother ance.
So, music is a matter of individual choice. Human psychology is different for e  surprisingly individual. His or her interest in music will be different from others altogether.
Music is an art form in which the medium is sound organized in time. Common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated ideas tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture.
The word derives from Greek (mousike), “(art) of the Muses”.
To many, music is a way of life, such as it is to the Native Americans, who use their music to pray.
many still use this practice now, who have found their hearts in the melodies. Greek philosophers and ancient Indians defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies.
Common sayings such as “the harmony of the spheres” and ” it is music to my ears” point to the notion that music is ofttimes ordered and pleasant to listen to, but the opinion of the listener does not necessarily advocate music theorists formulate a precise definition of music.
prefer the notion that visual arts must be beautiful to behold, the tacit notion that music need be pleasant to listen to has been questioned.
20th-century composer John Cage has been explicit that any sound can be music, saying, for example, ” There’s no noise, only sound.” According to musicologist Jean-Jacques Nattiez, “the border amidst music and noise is always culturally defined-which implies that, even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place; in short, there is rarely a consensus.

Live Concert Applications and Broadband Media Advances

Personal computers are becoming a necessity and an important fixture in more and more homes in the United States and across the globe. As home computer popularity grows, businesses and service providers are extending offers and wares through emails and online advertising. Gone are the days of junk mail, today, junk email and pop-ups are the norm. Along with advertising and sales, the Internet has opened doors for large multimedia events such as sports, concerts, and festivals, to be broadcast live into homes worldwide, reaching millions. New advances in broadband media abilities combined with advances in home computers are allowing interactivity and audience enjoyment and involvement in ways never before imagined by venue owners and concert promoters alike.

Live music shows are becoming more and more extravagant each year. Large fleets of commercial tractor-trailer trucks are now used to transport the millions of dollars of gear necessary to mount a show the size of an act such as the Rolling Stones or the like, and costs of putting on such shows, what with renting a venue, paying a crew, and renting equipment, are definitely on the rise. No matter how large a particular venue might be, there are only so many seats housed within, and only so many tickets available to be sold and bought by fans. What if there was a way to bring the show to fans, fans that would be willing to pay for tickets to view their favorite musicians from their homes?

Enter the world of live broadcasting and broadband media. New advances in broadband media are supplying solutions and new avenues to generate ticket sales and heighten audience experience. No longer do “superfans” of groups need journey thousands of miles to see their heroes prance about and play upon the stage. Broadcast media pioneers like Whiteblox can provide Internet viewers with the ability to not only hear their favorite music in pristine, high fidelity audio across bandwidth, they can provide viewers with high resolution visuals as well. With multi-camera ability, viewers are interactively able to pick the camera angle at will, zooming in on their favorite guitarist’s blistering solo, or perhaps checking out the beautiful girl in the front row.

The possibilities are endless and the forecasted sales are mind-boggling. Imagine what sort of numbers a reunion of an esteemed act like Led Zeppelin could generate if promoters would broadcast it on the Internet for eagerly awaiting fans? Would broadband be up to that sort of viewership challenge? Providers like Whiteblox would try their best to be up to that challenge.

Relaxation Music

What is chill out music? When is it a wonderful time to play it? What does it mean to you? What are some wonderful chill out CD s?
Chilled music is ofttimes found under lounge, ambient, and techno types. This type of music is ofttimes light and  surprisingly easy to listen to. Chilled music is more accurately defined as electronic because the music is composed electronically. Usually, when you hear the word “electronic” you think about computer – prefer sounds. However, electronically composed music sounds much better! This type of music uses beats, strings, cords, and piano, all electronically composed. Chilled music is ofttimes played as background music at get togethers, restaurants, but also at home.
This electronically composed music can be played whenever and, I believe, in any situation. The reason for this is that it is stimulating, relaxing, and uplifting. Therefore, listening to some chilled out music is best for when you’re working, relaxing at home with companions, when you’re tired and stressed or feeling blue.
Obviously, this type of music will mean something different to you. I think that it is  surprisingly exhilarating music that stays fresh and contemporary. I ofttimes listen to some chilled out music when I’m tired or stressed out. It’s truly amazing how soothing and uplifting it is to lay on your bed or couch with some chilled music playing in the background.
If you’re looking for some examples, I highly recommend Café del Mar, Hotel Costes, Buddha Bar, and the In Search of Sunrise series by DJ Tiesto, the king of techno music. Café del Mar is  surprisingly ambient, rhythmic, and tasteful. Hotel Costes is quite chic and classy. The Buddha Bar series is, as you could imagine quite oriental but it is also fresh and modern. The In Search of Sunrise series is amazing: it is soft-core techno that’s relaxing to listen to.

Ozzy Osbourne Concert Tickets Charged on Government Credit Cards

Government credit card abuse is at an all-time high even after the federal government has put forth new legislation against Government credit card abuse. Recently, USDA employees from the United States department of agriculture used at their government credit cards to buy Ozzy Osbourne tickets to a local concert.

It must be nice for government workers to steal taxpayers money and know that they cannot be or will not be prosecuted for stealing. It is amazing that we have government workers who are in charge of enforcing the laws in our country who clearly believe they are above the law in every regard.

But that is not all that some of the USDA employees have used credit cards for. Some have gotten tattoos, a car for their mother (yah right?), and all sorts of other goodies and gadgets. We ought to give them a tattoo that says; THIEF on their forehead and another one on their Butt.

Some have charged that the Government credit card abuse was widespread in the military and yet it was not widespread. The problem with stealing and government credit cards, which is taxpayers money goes much deeper than just the military services. After all, when a group of soldiers or sailors have time off for rest and recovery they deserve a little fun on the town and it helps build camaraderie. But USDA employees going to an Ozzy Osbourne concert and buying tickets on taxpayers government credit cards is BS.

How can the American people trust the United States government when we find dishonesty at all levels? How can we trust the USDA when their employees are stealing from the taxpayer? How can we trust anyone in government when these things go on? I believe the taxpayers are owed an explanation and they have been waiting for it for nearly a decade. Please consider this in 2006.

Music for Teens: Positive and Negative Impacts

Music is the “Universal Language” – everyone, all over the place could relate to the message of music. Music with lyrics could obvious ly stress its message. Music without lyrics or what  we  called as “Instrumental” could still
relay message to us by making our imagination awake and recalling some get togethers in our lives, experiences and moments. Some people listen to music to relieve stress. Doctors and Therapists use music as therapy to treat patients with anxiety, illnesses and even to differ one individual ’s behavior. Music
can affect our emotions.
Two impacts of music to minds:
The positive impact of music to mind is to unwind our minds, most of the times that  we  listen to nice lyrics, it also dominates our actions. Such as listening to love music, it makes us act out the kissing words, or inspires us to make love smoothly, loving our parents, loving God, loving companions and etc. Good music could make immature, mature and violent minds switch to peaceful reaction.
The negative impact of music to mind is so affective and knowns as so wonderful that constant ly repeats violent words and phrases etches those suggestions in the mind. This causes the listener to react or act out on what he
has heard, just to immature minds that listen to it. Due to this, it is recommended to the adults, parents or guardian to closely monitor their children / adolescents in picking their preferred types of music because it brings out violent or negative messages. This could influence your teen’s behavior greatly, including the way he thinks, talks, choose friends, and even the clothes he chooses to wear.
Music has lots of benefits to people. Using music as inspiration for guiding family is always effective too. Above all using music to get to know your teen’s secrets and getting really close to them is the most effective way.

Dave Brubeck in Concert at Orchestra Hall. Chicago, Ill. Mid 60’s

Orchestra Hall, a monument to Beaux Arts architecture located just a little south on Chicago’s “Miracle Mile”, was designed before the days of equality for the masses. It was, up to that point, a place to enjoy opera and symphony and such. In order to get to the cheap seats you hiked up 7 (or was it 10?) stories through a winding, narrow, windowless corridor that only accommodated one way, single file traffic. This set up allowed adoring, but economically challenged, fans to get to seats in the roost without disturbing the “real” customers. The seats ran to the top of the Hall and the incline was as close to 45 degrees as engineering could safely construct. This may not sound like a recipe for having a good time but the Hall lived up to its conceit in some ways. The acoustics, for example, were celebrated and legendary. Also, in the 50’s, a “jazz concert” as opposed to a “jazz set”, particularly in such rarefied air, was a different kind of party and a bow to Jazz’ growing recognition as a “legitimate art” form.
The night of the event was cold and punctuated by some sort of weather disturbance that I, and my crew, (obviously) thought unremarkable for a Chicago winter. We were there to see the Dave Brubeck (featuring Paul Desmond) and Gerry Mulligan Quartets. And if we had to sit on top of the building we would have. We were young enough to make the ascent to the top with minimal damage or complaint and the prospects were way too delicious to be dampened by weather and steps. As long as our noses didn’t bleed from the altitude we were happy.
The Dave Brubeck Quartet was scheduled to go first. After some announcements that I don’t remember, the crowd quieted and exhibited the decorum to which the high-toned venue was accustomed. The curtain parted and there THEY were at a casual ready. There was Ron Crotty on the bass, Lloyd Davis on the drums, Paul Desmond on the alto sax and Brubeck, with huge glasses rimmed to match his shiny black grand piano, on the keys. The set immediately and unceremoniously opened with one of the soon-to-be-jazz classics which are now recognizable by the first bar – and proceeded from there. Can’t remember the exact offerings but I can remember how it felt.
Subsequent liner notes have said it all in better words that I can command. Genius; Controlled soaring; Astonishing…respectful… challenging interplay. Innovative timing. Surprising improvisation. In addition, there was just enough of an interjection of a classically trained mind to let you know how Bach devotees, back in the day, felt upon first hearing his music. The absolute artistry of everyone involved ate away at the reserve the Hall usually inspired. The atmosphere became infused with the hums, wry smiles and spontaneous claps and responses of a real JAZZ audience, which, we would soon learn, was the same no matter the venue.
At the break it was announced that Gerry Mulligan’s flight had been delayed as a result of the weather. Small decorous groan. Brubeck and company resumed but in the middle of an offering, a harried and bedraggled looking Gerry Mulligan lurched on to the stage (half carrying/ half propelled by his ridiculously large horn) with his group straggling behind. Any Orchestra Hall-tied decorum that had been left at that point in time was immediately lost.
After some adjustments Mulligan took the floor and proceeded to exorcize the frustrations that accompany delayed travel, nasty weather and other assorted challenges to his usual cool. The group- usually sartorially perfect in (very) narrow suits and ties but now mismatched and rumpled- pushed, drove, strode, charged and jammed for another hour. The audience went into tent revival mode.
But there was more…
Just about the time that we were sure we were going to be thrown out, Brubeck and Desmond returned – just ambled back out from the wings. All hell broke loose.
With a minimal amount of chit chat – or that’s the way I remember it – everybody involved launched into the first piece of another full set. Desmond and Mulligan romanced, challenged and dueled. Brubeck, hunched over the shiny black grand, flashed his devious cleverness and exhibited a little less cool and a lot more intensity. It was at least 1 am and nobody was moving an inch.
About an hour later, we found ourselves on a crisp, deserted Michigan Avenue. I don’t even remember the descent from our perch high above the stage. The audience was still in the unity of the experience and had not yet disintegrated into individuals. They still carried the awe and were congratulating each other on being in the right place at the right time. And then the famous Chicago “hawk” reminded us of where we were. We moved deeper into our coats and hurried to our cars but we were warm all the way home.
