San Francisco 49ers Tickets – Draft Analysis

San Francisco 49ers tickets have just spiked in popularity now that the NFL Draft is over. As you probably know, the Niners were able to land a few very talented players in the draft. Now comes the time to speculate. Will the 49ers improve some of the deficient areas from last season? Or will they get even better at the positions where they were strong last year? Let’s give the 49ers the once-over to see how the new rookies will affect the numbers from 2007, and ultimately, the popularity of San Francisco 49ers tickets.

Clearly the 49ers were not as good as they hoped they would be when they started the 2007 season. After all was said and done, you can’t blame the passing game for all of the Niners’ troubles in 2007. There were some other deficient areas as well. While it is true that the total passing yards that San Fran gained (2,320) was the league’s lowest, the interception rate of the team (1.1 per game) was not enough to make you think that the quarterbacks were at fault. They could have used some consistency, though, as 35-year old Trent Dilfer’s 1,116 yards and 7 touchdowns led the platoon of quarterbacks, including starter Alex Smith (914 yards) and second-string Shaun Hill (501 yards). But one thing that will help any quarterback is having a more stable offensive line, which will allow him, whoever he ends up being, to throw more effectively while in a nice pocket. That’s why the Niners got Chilo Rachal from Southern California. Chilo was their second round pick, so he has a good shot at getting playing time. The Niners also picked up Cody Wallace from Texas A&M, who plays center. If the 49ers are going to get their offense going, it will have to start with the line, and that area just got a boost. As you know, Frank Gore was given little opportunity to get anything going because of the passing game weakness, and that can get fixed with some better protection.

On the defensive side of the ball, the 49ers added DT Kentwan Balmer from North Carolina and CB Reggie Smith from Oklahoma. We like these picks, because if there was one area where the 49ers were alright on D, it was the linebacker spot. Defensively Patrick Willis was The Man. While teams tried to run the ball 504 times against the 49ers (the 30th most in the league) the 49ers only allowed 9 rushing TDs all year. With some better players on the D-line and in the secondary, the 49ers will be a better all-around defensive unit. Look for fewer opponent scores when you get San Francisco 49ers tickets for next season’s games.
